On April 28, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City witnessed a historic moment as 10,500 drones simultaneously lit up the night sky, setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest drone light show ever performed.

The show, executed by Loon Eyes Studio in collaboration with Prowtech International Vina JSC, was not only a grand-scale aerial performance, but also a powerful symbol of patriotism, national pride, and technological creativity on a global scale.

From Ambitious Vision to Historic Achievement

As early as late 2024, Loon Eyes and Prowtech International Vina JSC began developing the concept with the bold goal of setting a world record. Backed by experience from previous drone light show projects, we clearly understood the scale and complexity of executing such a large drone performance in the heart of a densely populated city.

Within just seven months, nearly 300 engineers, technicians, and coordinators overcame hundreds of technical, security, and weather-related challenges — all essential elements for a successful UAV show in urban airspace. Our goal: to tell a proud Vietnamese story using the language of technology and light.

Pushing Boundaries in the Art of Drone Light Shows

Synchronizing 10,500 drones over Ho Chi Minh City required an advanced multi-layered drone control system and a highly experienced technical team. Loon Eyes deployed the latest signal management technology, ensuring smooth operation without interference — even in a signal-dense metropolitan area.

A multi-tiered security system was implemented throughout the event area, guaranteeing safety for tens of thousands of spectators. On the night of April 28, 2025, waves of synchronized drones ascended to form sacred symbols: the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, the iconic Dong Son drum, the image of a tank breaching the Independence Palace gates, and more.

A total of 10,500 drones successfully completed the performance, officially setting a new Guinness World Record for the

“Most remote-controlled multirotors/drones airborne simultaneously.”
