On the evening of July 6, 2024, at the special national relic site of Hien Luong – Ben Hai along the border, an emotional night of art unfolded as the Quang Tri sky was illuminated by a large-scale drone light show featuring 1,000 synchronized drones. This special event marked the grand opening of the 2024 Festival for Peace, themed “Connecting Bridges,” reflecting the Vietnamese people’s aspiration for unity and the seamless connection of past, present, and future values.

Loon Eyes Studio—Vietnam’s pioneering expert in drone light shows—was honored to be chosen as the partner to produce this remarkable performance. More than just a light display, this was a journey of storytelling through drone light, recreating historical moments and sacred cultural symbols above the Ben Hai River—once a dividing line between the two regions of the country.

As the first beams of light pierced the darkness, the sky over Quang Tri transformed into a vast stage where 1,000 drones simultaneously created an image of a heart composed of the words “Peace” and “Love” in multiple languages. Each unmanned drone acted as a shining point, collectively weaving a message of love and a yearning for peace sent out to friends around the world.

The emotional highlight of the drone light show was the giant Peace Bell soaring in the sky. As nine resonant bell tolls echoed across the night, the drone formation quickly shifted, transforming into a flock of doves in flight—the eternal symbol of peace. Each transformation left the audience spellbound, their eyes following the enchanting lights as they gracefully danced through the sacred space above the historic river.

The drone light show continued to transport the audience through time, showcasing heroic moments from Vietnamese history: the intricate patterns of the Đồng Drum, the image of Saint Gióng shedding his armor and ascending to the sky, and Lê Lợi returning the treasured sword to the Golden Turtle God. The national flag, unfurling against the night sky above the Bến Hải River, brought the show to an emotionally charged close, leaving thousands of residents and visitors with lasting impressions of pride and beauty.
